I don't know if you do, but do you remember those times when Facebook had a "Notes" tab (yup, I date back to that prehistoric era) and it was mainly a tool for procrastinators alike to paste nonsensical quizzes that would ask the most random-est of questions. Am I stirring something there? Yeah? No? Well, I loved that. I loved how just by choosing your favourite beverage or the current colour of your shirt could deduce how colourful a personality you were (or rather, how big a douche you could be). Those quizzes were the tantric necessities of all self-obsessed egocentric teens who thought themselves to be pseudo-celebs on social media. I would know that. I thought I was. The "sexually attractive", "super-intelligent" Jack of all trades who rode "high on notoriety" (in short, "sexy evil genius")(and also, that was the only thing I was riding on...just so you know how pathetic and awkward I truly was as a teen).
Recently, I happened to stumble across some posts from 7 years back where I was literally indulging in sharing the "deepest darkest secrets" I had as a bored 20 year old. And the only thing I could do was face-palm, on repeat. Yup, it was embarrassing. I don't know what I was thinking retrospectively.
Over time, and with growing responsibilities, I have become such an introvert that I protect my privacy akin to how Don protects his ass from the Interpol in the sequel (yes I just did that....I referenced a film synopsis as a metaphor...just shows to go how many times I have watched it). Such quizzes seem like a child's play now, however, an annoyingly enjoyable waste of time. Thus, I could not help but indulge in this guilty pleasure for one last time.
*My sole and only purpose of sharing this: I am hoping my future husband would somehow get access to this (a plus point, you handsome man, if you hacked into my privacy settings and wrecked it to read this, because that is just so sexy) and understand what he has to deal with before committing
**Also understand this that these questions have been collated over a period 4 weeks which not only shows that I actually don't have much free time (so, handsome man, I am doing something with my life instead of sitting on my fat sexy ass), but also that I don't have enough patience to do all the questions in one sitting (which means you should be a good boy and not test my patience at all)
For what it's worth. . .
So why aren't you in love with your ex anymore?
Well…he turned out to be a confused and selfish jerk whose only aim in the short term was to be a f**k-boy (I had no idea such a concept existed until I met him), and my peace of mind was a lot more valuable to me than going gaga over him.
Who do you sit next to in your English class?
It is rather weird to be having English class at this age…I am pretty well-versed in that language, for the record, even if I appear to be very colloquial in my mannerisms. It is a different story that, time and again, I have to prove my literacy in that language for job applications just because my country of birth is not one of the “English-speaking” countries that is good enough to be considered literate (and it annoys me to great lengths)
Are you generally a happy person?
I am easily pleased, pretty nonchalant with a lot of things and sadly, easily stressed as well, so my contentment wavers throughout the day. Some days feels like a beautiful breeze in the Swiss mountains, others like a camel ride through the Sahara desert.
How's your heart been lately?
Heart sounds dual, no added sounds or murmurs, apex beat palpable at 5ICSMCS of normal rhythm and character. Occasional palpitations, but mostly precipitated by caffeine.
(Mmmmm mmmm mmm mmmm)
Why did you last smile?
Because my brother farted (yup, bowel gas releases amuse me to no end)
Are you good at making new friends?
Frankly speaking, I kind of am…but I never follow through…Sustaining acquaintanceships/friendships takes a whole deal of energy and I just have better things to deal with at the moment
When will your next kiss be?
Hopefully when I know I have found the one
(I'm looking at you, handsome man)
If you could move to Africa would you?
Maybe not now, but if I could once I am established financially, I would. I want to extend my beliefs in appropriate maternal and neonatal care to the underprivileged in the continent and it would be a true blessing if I can do even the littlest for them in my lifetime.
Are promises important to you?
“Promises are meant to be broken” I hardly follow through with promises, just the way I hardly follow through with other commitments. I just don’t make them, then; I let my actions speak instead.
Would you ever tell someone you loved them first?
I would. I will hesitate for obvious reasons, but if telling is all I have and he’s all I have to lose, I will.
Someone knocks on your window at 2 am, what do you say?
“For f**k’s sake, could you let me sleep?”
Honestly, who was the last person to tell you that they love you?
My youngest cousin, Jai (my gulab jamun!!)
What made you decide to wear the outfit you wore today?
Sheer laziness. It smelled normal, it was still clean, so why not.
What's your favorite color gummy bear?
We should not discriminate a gummy bear based on their colour….They are all equally delicious
Do you prefer to seduce or be seduced?
A little bit of both ;)
Do you prefer fast paced dancing or slow dancing?
I love it fast! (pun intended) ;)
Has someone ever taken advantage of you in any way?
Yes. Fallen hard and learnt my lesson.
Do you believe that you should fight for love?
If he really is worth fighting for, yes. And I mean, hardcore boxing and martial arts, if required.
Have you ever felt like you lost
Yes…plenty of times
What's something you really want right now?
A peace of mind and everything to just fall into place
Anywhere you'd rather be right now?
Some place far….I am tired of functioning….and treading to prevent myself from drowning.
Does the last person you shared a bed with mean anything to you?
Yes. He’s my sweet idiotic brother.
When a friend walks out of your life, do you go after them or let them go?
The door’s open, they are more than welcome to leave… I don’t have the energy or time to chase.
Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?
I have a very hypocritical stand on this and I can arguable present my case in an essay. I have been given many chances to prove myself and my credentials in my study by my parents, so I am glad they felt I was worthy of second chances. But there are certain mistakes that I personally would not look past and give a second chance to [anything and everything that breaks someone’s trust or heart]
What did you last cry about?
God knows, a lot of things make me want to cry…I can’t remember when I last shed a tear
Do you know anyone with the same birthday as you?
Oh yeah, my grandmom!
Do you prefer an ocean or a pool?
Definitely, the pool. The vastness of the ocean scares me.
Do you prefer a window seat or an aisle seat?
I prefer the window seat. Aisle seat passengers are frequently disturbed by mobile carts and people and I hate getting my “kacchi” slumber disrupted
What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
Chocolates and Cakes :P
Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of killer bees?
A bear…kam se kam koi baalo ke barabar ka to hoga
Is it easy to make you cry?
Yeah, I think so….there are some chords that are easy to reach
What would you do if your best friends died?
I honestly don’t know. Death is a concept I have yet to accept. But one thing is for sure, I will not be able to deal with the loss of a loved one.
Do you consider yourself lucky?
In some ways, I have been…but sometimes, I feel like yeh saali kismet bari kutti cheez hai, kabhi bhi palat jaati hai (yes, I can relate to the movie more than I’d want to admit...and no, I still can't break into a vault)
Have you ever been told " Its not you, Its me"?
Nope…If anything, I have been the one who has told a few.
Would you ever live with anyone on your top friends?
Nope. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and it’s better that way.
Did the one person who hurt you the most in your life apologize?
Nope. He still thinks he was right to do that. And he’s well aware of the fact (and he admitted it himself) that he did what he did because he knew I would not retaliate since I had fallen for him.
Explain the last time you threw up
I had drunk milo after having eggs and quinoa…and I think that concoction might have blocked the gastric outlet, hence causing me to vomit within minutes of having it. (yup, not a very pleasant story)
Do you think you'll be married in 10 years?
Yes, I hope so. And with 3 kids at least.
What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex potential lovers?
It’s simple…I am blatantly honest about what I am and what I want. No drama, no weird shiz. I frankly don’t know how to lure people with tricks whatsoever.
What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?
This weird satanic guy I always hallucinated about...he always wore red and had green skin...with horns and long red nails and red lipstick (now, thinking back, he seemed a l'il gay)
Do you love the pain a tattoo brings?
I wouldn’t say I love pain….It can be annoying at times….but everything comes at a price….it depends on whether, at that time, I am in the mood to pay the price for a tattoo
What if the person of your dream was finally yours?
OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!!!! I WOULD DIE HAPPY!!!! LIFE WOULD FEEL COMPLETE!!!!
“Tere saath yeh bhi commitment nahin lagta, jaisa pehle tha waisa hi lagta hai”
(Mere tera haye re jabra hoye re jabra fan ho gaya...Tujhe dekhte hi dil mein dhan-ta-ran ho gaya)
I have come to realize that when I'm angry:
I get really silent and just want to go to a corner and cry
I have come to realize that, if I love someone:
I get too scared to make it obvious, but I would do anything under the sun for them
I have come to realize that, I hate it when:
I have to explain myself for my decisions and when no one understands my viewpoint (because most of the times, it’s different from others)
I have come to realize that, marriage:
Should matter more than the wedding itself. Personally I believe it is only successful if you can be your spouse’s best friend, partner-in-crime, confidante and f*** buddy (clearly, that is important too)
I have come to realize that, when I get on Facebook:
I am probably deprived of any excitement in my life and have got nothing better to do
I have come to realize that, working out:
Gives me a sense of fulfillment…and a really strong body
What do you do if you hear a song you like playing on the radio when you are all alone in the room?
I sing to it with full furor! Hamari awaaz desh ki awaaz na sahi, but it’s not that horrible.
You want to speak to your crush badly. What is your pick up line?
“Hey, How are you doin’?” (Not trying to be Joey here, but my pick-up game is bad….this is basically how I converse with everyone)
You should get a bumper sticker that says:
“I’M FAT AND YOU’RE UGLY BUT I CAN LOSE WEIGHT”
A good quote to put on your bedroom wall would be:
“Kucch jeetne ke liye kucch haarna bhi parta hai…Aur haar kar jeetne wale ko Baazigar kehte hain”
“Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything”
You'd be embarrassed if your dad started randomly singing this:
Kahan Ho Tum, Kahan Ho Tum.... (There is a story….a very face-palming story)
